Congratulations to beautiful Lizzie! Our gorgeous white wedding in the New York snow. Thank you so much Lizzie for sharing these fabulous photos and showing what great fun you can have in our dresses!
We made Lizzie a bespoke version of our Doris Lace dress in a wonderful Ivory french Leavers lace. Lizzie wanted a ballerina length special dress which showed off her wonderful curves. It was great fun fitting the dress to Lizzie and adding a tiny hint of glimmer around the neckline with glass beads. Lizzie completed the film star style with a glass beaded head piece by Emmy..x
The iconic Suzannah style is represented so beautifully in this wonderful book by Lan Nguyen-Grealis. An inspiring book of Art and Make up. Within this book, the fashion direction by Karl Willett has captured a Mad Men-esque element so fabulously..x LOVE THIS shot of the 1950’s influenced Duchesse collarette dress from our couture archive. Everyone needs a satin dress in rich purple. Why not! So versatile! ;-)
A great day at the races on Saturday at Cheltenham. Louisa, our boutique manager wore the beautiful Snap Coat tweed as planned and a gorgeous trilby by Edwina Ibbotson. Chic, effortless and such a modern interpretation of classic tweed and felt style.
The racing season is kicking off early in preparation for The Cheltenham Festival.
The Festival Trials day held tomorrow, Saturday 30th January is the best one day jump fixture in the UK. An exciting lead up to the main event. I am the boutique manager/concierge at Suzannah. I am an avid racing fan, and I will be attending :-)
The Festival 15th-18th March with the two main attractions being Wednesday 16th March Ladies Day and Friday 18th March The Gold Cup.
This is the highlight of the jump season, showing the finest horses, jockeys, owners and trainers and we are there to see the finest in fashion.
We have created an outfit for the Festival Trials Day, keeping on trend with the tweed style necessary for winter racing but with a Suzannah modern edge.
Here is my outfit! It will be really cold. I need to be warm enough for outdoors, and then still chic for indoors when I can peal off a layer to head inside for a drink and something to eat.
SO. Underneath I shall be wearing the Kaleidoscope in pink tweed. A great piece as I can wear it with knee high suede boots and tights or ankle boots.
Then I can wear the Snap Coat over the top. The silhouettes work together well. I will also opt for our fake fur collarette! a bit of warmth and glamour never goes a miss with the racing crowd.
And of course I need to keep my head warm. Edwina Ibbotson has the most fantastic felt trilbys which are perfect for this type of event. Ed has kindly lent me one of her sample pieces. I need to look winter race chic. I tried many felt pieces with feathers which all would essentially be great, but I felt the trilby looked a little bit more casual and effortless on this particular occasion.
So. Here’s my outfit. And tomorrow I will send you a photo in situ.
A huge thank you to the team at You magazine, in particular Amy.E Williams and Editor Sue Peart, for the wonderful support of my brand by writing this fantastic feature shown below. The support of the label in this way helps to grow British Fashion which in turn helps the growth of manufacturing in Britain and Europe..x
Lucy Kebbell recommended the Suzannah boutique 3 New Quebec Street as the one-stop boutique for event dressing, alongside Harvey Nichols with its supreme styling service and Anna Valentine.
We were thrilled to be recognised by this luxury title for our servicing which includes elegant, modern and beautiful styling from head to heel in collaboration with our chosen British millinery partners and shoe designer..x
Both dresses looked effortlessly stylish. The vintage couture spirit shone through with Elizabeth’s wonderful Hollywood glamour styling directed by Ellie Lines. Completed with the perfect Rupert Sanderson heels..x
Fab coverage for our coin-dot culottes suit . The stunning designer and owner of brand Charlotte Olympia, Charlotte Dellal stepped out in the fab polkas to the launch of Iris this week. The documentary about Iris Apfel. Charlotte carried her new bag inspired by Iris, and teamed with perfectly painted lips and nails and her signature hair rolls.
Much coverage was received about the event . W mag, Tatler , Vogue and the Telegraph featured the glamorous affair.
What a fabulous five days of gorgeous weather, racing, dresses and wonderful millinery! We were delighted to have seen so many of our dresses on our lovely customers throughout all five days of Royal Ascot plus the Ascot event; Goffs horse sale at The Orangery in Kensington Palace. Though I’m sure there are many photos we have not yet seen, here are a few snaps from Royal Ascot 2015 so far..x
Here is a wonderful quote from the Queen which sums up the event and how it has changed to be a worldwide recognised spectacle.
“I often reflect on how much Royal Ascot has evolved in recent years. At the turn of the millennium, Royal Ascot was very much a European affair, but now we share the wonderful spectacle with the whole world. We have horses representing many countries in front of an audience, both here at Ascot and watching at home, from far and wide.” – The Queen
