A fabulous Wimbledon round up for Suzannah dresses this year 2016..x
Well done Andy Murray ! Such a well earned beautiful gold trophy after such a thrilling match to top of incredible performance at Wimbledon this year.
And of course Serena Williams. I had the pleasure of watching Serena on centre court from the Royal Box this Tuesday. Such power. Such an icon for women and for the future of tennis. A great sport . So inspiring .
Here are a few pictures from our Wimbledon week. We proudly saw Pippa Middleton, Ellie Goulding, HRH Countess of Wessex and Gill Brook , the Wimbledon chairman’s wife all wearing Suzannah dresses in the Royal Box this week. Thank you also to Tatler for the coverage in their Wimbledon shopping guide for suggesting our Hot-house hearts shirt dress as the perfect wear.
Wonderful coverage of Pippa Middleton wearing the Suzannah brand to the first day of Wimbledon today. Pippa wore the Monaco dress in Ivory and pinks. A beautiful strawberry and cream combination for the sunny day at The All England Club.
We were thrilled to see some of our outfits at the service as part of the Queen’s 90th celebrations at the weekend for the National service of Thanksgiving.
HRH Sophie Countess of Wessex wore a bespoke coat dress which we designed specifically for this occasion. The coat dress was originated from a beautiful 1940’s archive piece which we sourced in Paris earlier in the year and was originally from the States. The beautiful soft shoulder line and elegant collar-line lengthened the silhouette and acted as a beautiful frame to support the full fluid skirt part. The waistline was pitched slightly higher and swept down into the small of the back to give plenty of space for a dramatic hem sweep.
The coat dress was cut to be slightly a-frame at the front to skim the hips, with the fullness and drama thrown into the back seam-lines. The front hemline was rounded and soft to echo the raglan shoulder and collar with subtle echoes of this curvature in the cuff too.
The entire coat was made in London from a beautiful wool silk, and fully lined in silk whilst being fully mounted onto silk organza.
The result, a demure feminine piece which was worn with of course upmost elegance and grace.
Jane Taylor created the beautiful millinery, which she created to match the coat dress.
Autumn Phillips ( show below wearing the Kaleidoscope Racing Green) and the Countess of Ulster ( wearing the Wave dress with bespoke silk trims) also sported Suzannah looks. Autumn’s dress was coordinated with a beautiful feather and lace hat by Emily Baxendale, and Claire’s outfit was accessorised with the Jay hat by Awon Golding..x
Awon is known for her flair and innovative creative talent. Her impeccably made standout pieces are ideal for a day at the races or finishing off the perfect wedding outfit.
The Spring/Summer 2016 collection ‘Audubon’,now launching in the Suzannah boutique and online, is inspired from John James Audubon’s masterpiece, ‘Birds Of America’. Awon blends bold colours, feathers, plastics and wearable shapes to create an eyecatching collection of hats and headpieces.
A very chic understated Hollywood glam outfit for Olivia Colman this week as she attended the premiere of The Night Manager wearing the Black Cape Shift. Olivia opted for a bespoke version of this style. Beautiful, elegant, red carpet chic!
Congratulations to beautiful Lizzie! Our gorgeous white wedding in the New York snow. Thank you so much Lizzie for sharing these fabulous photos and showing what great fun you can have in our dresses!
We made Lizzie a bespoke version of our Doris Lace dress in a wonderful Ivory french Leavers lace. Lizzie wanted a ballerina length special dress which showed off her wonderful curves. It was great fun fitting the dress to Lizzie and adding a tiny hint of glimmer around the neckline with glass beads. Lizzie completed the film star style with a glass beaded head piece by Emmy..x
The iconic Suzannah style is represented so beautifully in this wonderful book by Lan Nguyen-Grealis. An inspiring book of Art and Make up. Within this book, the fashion direction by Karl Willett has captured a Mad Men-esque element so fabulously..x LOVE THIS shot of the 1950’s influenced Duchesse collarette dress from our couture archive. Everyone needs a satin dress in rich purple. Why not! So versatile! ;-)
